Discover what awaits you as a Greystone Institute student, including the various resources, tools, and support systems designed to help you develop your skills and reach your learning objectives.
Greystone Institute holds an orientation week for all new students. You will be notified of this by email. It is critical you attend orientation to ensure you are fully informed of your timetable, study requirements, meet the staff and tour the campus.
You will need to complete some documentation for us using the Learning Management System MOODLE. Our student advisors can help you do this. You will also need to apply for a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
All students studying in Australia need to have a USI. The USI is a reference number made up of 10 numbers and letters that:
If you are a new or continuing student, you need a USI in order to receive your qualification or record of results. If you don't have a USI you will not receive your qualification or record of results.
As an international student, once you have arrived in Australia your visa will be activated, and you will be able to apply for a USI. You will also receive a reminder email from our Greystone Institute team.
Before you arrive to Greystone Institute, you’ll be given access to our Student Connect portal. Student Connect links to everything you need while studying at our institute.
You’ll also be able to download the myGreystone App to connect to these resources on the go, any time.

Your success is important to us. Here are some tips:
You will be considered at risk if you fail 2 or more units in a study period i.e. 50%.
If you fall behind you can formally declare that you are falling behind and start the process to get Academic Support. Or, Greystone Institute will contact you about your progress and organize an at-risk meeting.
At-risk Meeting: Students formally identified as at risk must attend a meeting with the Academic Dean, the relevant unit’s coordinator, and a representative from the Academic Board. This meeting constitutes the student's At-Risk Committee.
Meeting Purpose: The At-risk meeting aims to discuss the factors contributing to the student's at-risk status and develop a plan to enhance their subsequent academic performance.
Conditions and Support: The At-Risk Committee may impose conditions on the student's enrolment, such as limiting study load or requiring the student to participate in specific academic skills workshops or to seek additional English language instruction. Non-academic issues raised during meetings may lead to referral for counselling services.
Once conditions have been imposed and a notice has been issued the student will be provided with information relating to the process to appeal the intention
Assessment and Discontinuation: If a student maintains at-risk status for two consecutive semesters without improvement, the At-Risk Committee may categorize them as having Unsatisfactory Progress.
For additional guidance, students and staff can consult the Academic Board. Further information related to this policy is available in the Unsatisfactory Progress Policy, Student Welfare Policy, and Information to Students Policy

Greystone Institute adheres to the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) and the TEQSA Threshold Standards as guiding principles for conferring degrees and qualifications.
Greystone Institute commits to maintaining an up-to-date register of all AQF qualifications it is authorized to issue, along with a record of all qualifications granted to graduates. All student records will be retained in compliance with the TEQSA Threshold Standards.
Greystone Institute abides by the following principles:
At conferral, graduates are presented with academic documentation, including the Record of Results (or academic transcript), Australian Higher Education Graduate Statements (AHEGS), and testamurs.
The AHEGS is a static document that includes information regarding: the graduate, the awarding institution; the language of instruction; the nature, level, context, and status of the studies; the graduate academic achievements; and a description of the Australian higher education system. The AHEGS is only issued upon the completion of the program.
Greystone Institute ensures adherence to the Guidelines for the Presentation of Australian Higher Education Graduation Statements. The Academic Administration Manager maintains the currently approved version of the AHEGS.
The Record of Results is an official record of studies undertaken at Greystone Institute and will indicate the date on which the student was qualified and conferred in the award. It contains specialisations (if any), all units undertaken, and advanced standing/cross credit granted. The Record of Results includes a watermark and unique serial number identifier.
The testamur is an official award certificate issued by Greystone Institute that includes the full title of the qualification awarded and specialisations (if any) completed.
Testamurs include the Greystone Institute seal in raised relief on the front of the secure stationery, a watermark, and unique serial number identifier. This number is recorded on the register of all awards conferred in accordance with the Australian Qualifications Framework Qualifications Issuance Policy.
Testamurs are presented at a graduation ceremony. After conferral, graduates may apply for the release of their testamur if they choose not to attend the graduation ceremony.
The information on a graduate's testamur and/or records of results shall not be altered, other than to be re-issued after the correction of an error.
Students must notify the Academic Administration Manager of their intention to graduate prior to the due date.
Students must finalise and pay all outstanding fees, or this will result in ineligibility to graduate.
If the graduand is unable to attend the next graduation ceremony for the conferral of their award, they may request the deferral of their attendance to a subsequent ceremony, collect their testamur in person after the scheduled ceremony, or request the testamur be mailed to them after the scheduled ceremony.
